The governance of science in the contemporary world is mainly based on positivist approaches and the accumulation of information with the aim of technological domination over nature; an approach that has had undesirable consequences for the human world and has become one of the important concerns of scholars. Assuming that the root of this challenge lies in the prevailing definition of "science", this article explains the concept of "desirable science" from the perspective of the Holy Quran, emphasizing Sadr's transcendental wisdom and presenting a governing reading of it. The research was conducted using an analytical-argumentative method and conceptual analysis of the verses of the Quran. The findings show that desirable science in the Quranic system has characteristics such as divine finality, usefulness, responsibility, connection with morality and piety, creation of divine fear, guidance, and a close relationship with human dignity. In this view, science is not merely theoretical, but extends from the realm of knowledge to will, formation of the soul, individual behavior, and social structure. Therefore, science governance in Islamic society goes beyond educational and research policy-making and includes defining science, determining its goals, regulating its relationship with humans and society, and designing indicators for evaluating beneficial science at individual, institutional, and macro levels. As a result, "establishing desirable science" can be the theoretical core of science governance in the Islamic model.
