[English]

Consistent and meaningful naming of software components, databases, and information assets is considered one of the key elements in improving readability, maintainability, and data governance in data-driven systems. Despite existing standards, such as ISO/IEC 11179, and data governance frameworks, such as DAMA-DMBOK, there is still a need for an operational reference model that can integrate the naming process at both organizational and technical levels in a systematic, step-by-step, and implementable manner. Adopting a combined review-oriented and applied approach, this study presents an operational reference model for naming that defines the naming process as a three-stage transformation chain comprising semantic standardization, data governance, and technological compliance. The model is designed to establish consistency among linguistic rules, organizational policies, and technical implementation requirements, and is applicable throughout the life cycle of information systems. The model is examined through a case study of the “Islamic Sciences Information Management Database” based on ISO 25964-1. The findings indicate that applying the model enhances naming consistency, reduces semantic ambiguity, and improves the management and control of data structures at the organizational level.
